Coming into May things are showing signs of Summer. The Apple trees are starting to blossom and also Wild Strawberries and Blueberries. I have also noticed a lot of tents in the trees. Yesterday when I was taking some lettuce plants out,a Butterfly appeared. Not a Monarch but an Eastern Black Swallowtail. I sprayed some dirt with water and it stayed for a long time getting it's lunch. I sat for a while and just watched it. The Rosebreasted Grosebeaks are back, but no Baltimore Oriole, yet. Down along the river there are 3 young Eagles. The other morning an adult Bald Eagle was flying above our house. My husband filled the pool,I guess he thinks the Black Bear that wreck havoc here needs a bath. Yesterday it was 26 degrees and a hard frost. And so it goes.........
