Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/03/2006

Number: 1

I was looking in the garden at the hospital to see if the milkweed was up yet. (The groundskeeper lets some grow there) We raise several hundred Monarchs during the summer so I wanted to check the progress. It was up about 4-6" so I decided to check for eggs. I was very surprised to find 7 eggs so early. Generally, we find eggs toward the end of May. This was 3 weeks earler that last year!!
