A male indigo bunting joined 3 male rose-breasted grosbeaks, several male & female orioles, a pair of cardinals, house finches, downy woodpeckers, and blackbirds/grackles/starlings (yuck!) at the feeders today. Unfortunately the temp is 36, the wind is howling like January and it doesn't feel like May 11. The weather forecast doesn't look very encouraging for the next few days - how do these little critters kept warm? We've also had a male yellow=rumped warbler trying to figure out how to get suet out of the feeder for several days He sticks close to the feeder and does some ground gleaning when the woodpeckers are untidy!!! Last night about 7:30 the birdsong was varied and loud!!! It was 70 then!
