Monarchs are still in large numbers around New Orleans and Metairie and clustering about a mile to three miles off the southside of Lake Ponchartrain on the L P Causeway which connects the northshore communities to the greater New Orleans area. This phenom was also observed last week. We are having a cool spell and the concrete under the lee sides of the twin spans are full of dancing Monarchs around 5 in the evening and earlier in the day last week.
