I actually saw one "lone loon" about a month ago which is usual for our lake. However, this morning, I saw a group of 20, most of which I believe were in winter plumage, but 2 appeared to be adults. Some also seemed slightly smaller than others. Juveniles?
I've lived here on Long Lake (small lake)for years, but have never seen this many at one time! Good news for the loons, & for the health of our lake, as well.
