I was travelling most of the last week so only just got out today (May 14)to check on what birds are around. Didn't see or hear any robins today--saw kingfisher, white-crowned sparrow, tree swallow, bald eagle. I checked with some of the keen birders here in town and one indicated that they heard a robin on 8 May. Sounds like most birds are back but strangely not many flying around or singing this morning. We still have 100% snow cover although temperatures are above zero-- +9C right now and didn't freeze last night. There is hope that spring is finally on its way.
