2 monarchs were seen on 5-19-06, 9:45 AM at Sand Creek Preserve, Alamo township, near Kalamazoo, southwest Michigan. One was seen flying over a spring-burned field with milkweed and one was flushed from the ground in a firebreak. Temp in the sun was close to 60 degrees.
