I was on my daily run after school when I spotted a monarch nectaring on a lilac bush. It was a fresh looking female. The weather was sunny and in the low 80s. There was a southwest wind about 10 mph. 2 miles down the road I spotted my second monarch of the season. This one was also a female, but not as fresh looking as the first. These sightings are 2 weeks ahead of last year and 1 week ahead of when I usually see my first monarch.
