The flowering of the tree has stopped but a small pink flower was nestled inside the leaves. Instead of flowers now, there are green seedpods covering most of the branches of the tree. The leaves are the greenest I have seen this year, but the leaves are smaller than they were in the fall. Several animals have been known to take refuge around the tree. The bark looks a healthy dark brown color and there seems to be no evidence of bugs that may have damaged the thin trunk. The weather lately has been very worm and sunny with brief bursts of rain, so the tree has plenty of water and enough sunlight to carry out photosynthesis. My tree is in partial sunlight and partial shade throughout the day because it it is in my front yard surrounded by towering white oak trees.
