More than a dozen monarch adults observed in 1s and 2s soaring along the ridge on Brockway Mountain Drive near Copper Harbor, MI on 5/25/06. Also observed one monarch adulst in the bog at Point Isabelle, near Belle Gris, MI the same day. There were no monarchs in the Keweenaw Peninsula the previous day. I also did not see any in the UP on drive from Lansing, MI north to Copper Harbor on 5/22-23. On my return to Lansing from Grand Marais, MI on 5/27 I observed many monarch adults across the eastern UP and northern lower peninsula of Michigan.
