Yesterday morning, Tuesday May 30/06, I saw my first monarchs of the season, almost a full month earlier than last year.

Caught a quick glimpse of one while driving through Haliburton Village. The second a few hours later at home. A slightly faded female, flying along the side of the road LAYING EGGS on the young milkweed plants!
