During the Michigan Botanical Club Spring foray over the Memorial Day weekend in the Indiana Dunes area at the bottom of Lake Michigan, several participants reported to me seeing monarch butterflies. I personally saw one in Michigan City IN in the motel parking lot the morning of May 28th and one at Coffee Creek Nature Preserve in Chesterton IN that same afternoon.
