Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/09/2006

Number: 1

First Monarch in City Hall Park, two blocks east of the World Trade Center in NYC. I walk here on my lunch break some times. This was the first bright sunny day after a long stretch of much needed rain. Last year the gardener planted a large display of Asclepias curassavica, tropical milkweed, which of course died out over the New York winter. The next time I meet the gardener, I’ll have to tell him he has a customer waiting for him to replant the stuff. Garretsonfarm.org
