Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/03/2006

Number: 1

Waiting for confirmation of town between Thunder Bay and Sioux Lookout (50N)

I was in Thunder Bay on the weekend of June 2-4 taking a course and there were several monarchs fluttering around the open field areas around Lakehead University. On the highway between Thunder Bay and Sioux Lookout I also spotted the odd monarch - I also observed hundreds and hundreds of swallowtails last weekend. I am presently living in a very isolated community in north-western Ontario but we have not seen any monarchs this far north (but then I've not seen any milkweed either!)... but I'm still watching! cheers from the north woods.
