Monarchs have been few and far between in NB, although
the pace has picked up somewhat this week. Mostly
singles scattered around the southern half of the
province through June though most reports seem to have
been in the past week.

I hadn't seen one until Tuesday
(June 20) when one hurried through my yard here in
Shediac Cape (46° 14' 00" N - 64° 34' 00" W), heading
east; then two doing the same thing on Wednesdays (June 21) and
one yesterday (June 25).

The most interesting report and the only one involving
multiples was a report from Nelson Poirier (very
competent observer) at Point Escuminac (on NB's east
coast on the south side of the mouth of Miramichi Bay
- 47° 08' 00" N - 64° 58' 00" W) on Tuesday, June
20th. He reported 30 in one hour, all hurrying south
along the coast.
