I saw three or four monarchs flying across the Trans
Canada Highway while I was driving between Fredericton
(45° 56' 43" N - 66° 40' 00" W) and Sackville (45° 55'
07" N - 64° 23' 09" W), New Brunswick, on 13 and 14
June, both in mid afternoons. I did not know they were
particularly plentiful this year, and so did not pay a
particular attention other than a thought, in
retrospect, that they seemed to be a bit more than
usual. Weather was good and warm.
