Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/18/2006

Number: 1

Yesterday (July 3/06) I found fifteen monarch larvae,
5 to 6 mm long, on swamp milkweed plants in my yard in
Port Williams (45° 05' 52" N - 64° 24' 34" W),
Kings County, Nova Scotia. I had not seen any adults
in my yard yet this year, but obviously at least one
female escaped my notice.

Forwarded by Don Davis of Toronto, Ontario. [Based on size of larvae, estimating date of egg-laying as roughly 2 weeks earlier, 6/17/06.]

Port Williams, NS
