Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 07/08/2006

Number: 1

I'm certain I saw a Monarch: very large, elongated forewings, no line across hindwings, gliding with wings up at an angle.

I see a few here every year in July and August. They use dogbane on our property, and there is showy milkweed along irrigation ditches nearby.

I just discovered Journey North this year, or I would have been reporting them for the previous five years, too!
