6 monarch eggs were found on several milkweed plants, just west of North Bay, located about 6 miles north of Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin. Both common milkweed and swamp milkweed were found with monarch eggs. I can't say that these were the first monarch eggs in the area, because we had only just arrived that day, for a week vacation in the area. However, there was no evidence of previous monarch caterpillar activity on these particular plants.
