Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/11/2006

Number: 1

September 11

The Ruby-throated Hummingbird migration is getting into full swing. We have five feeders, but they are preferring the native
plants in the wildscape ... esp. the scarlet sage, raspberry penta,
and Mexican honeysuckle.

Next weekend is the big festival further down the coast at Rockport. It is getting cooler!!!

August 15

It is about that time when the large numbers begin stacking up along the coast for
the fall migration across the Gulf and down central Mexico.

The number of Rubythroated humming birds doubled the end of last week and have doubled again the middle of this week. The stores are full of supplies for feeding them as they begin to stack up along the Texas coast. We are hearing of large numbers--and just not RT--and as far away as Dallas.
