last month i noticed hummingbirds 'checking out' my wind chimes. i bought a feeder & put it up waiting to see what would happen.
within a couple of days, no more i had 3 - 4 hummingbirds feeding. there seems to be a large red throated male and 2 smaller possibly female birds. there is also one that seems smaller than these 3.
i don't know if it's just play but they buzz back & forth like dive bombers to get to the feeder. it appears the male is doing his best to keep th eother birds & the bees away from the feeder.
i have finally learned their "chirping" sound. it's very distinctive and is usually a couple of them, bickering at each other.
