Signs of Fall

Date: 08/20/2006

Number: 1

On the evening of Aug. 20 we heard a couple of Barred owls calling back and forth from our big oak trees with a variation of the "Hooo cooks for youuuu." It was slurred and more chatterie. A short while later the same evening we heard something that sounded like an electric knife sharpener in action (!). Very LOUD and ascending. It was 2 owls calling and responding. We researched the calls and determined it to be Barn owls. This is a lot of owl action in one night!
