When I came home from work about 3:30 pm on 8-28-06 I noticed that one of my Monarchs had hatched. I got him out of his cage and he was extremely calm. Most Monarchs that I have reared...by 3:30 they ready to get out and fly. I took him outside placed him on my butterfly bush and watched him for 20 min. He never moved from the flower. I brought him into the house and he sat on a plate with mushed up banana and drank and drank....still not much movement. At 730pm the torando serins went off and we were under watch until 830.....around 10:00pm. I noticed he wasn't on his plate...he was flying around the house. I took him outside and released him....DO YOU THINK HE COULD SENSE THE TORNADO????? would love to know your thoughts.
