What happened? In May and June it looked like it was going to be a great year for monarchs, but here at my place in Cannon Falls about 30 miles south of St. Paul, MN I have very few monarchs. The lowest number in our 11 years here. Last year I tagged 400 on the 15th of Aug. and today, one year, later there aren't even twenty out there. I wonder if this is just at my place or more widespread through the Midwest. There was quite a drought here and I lost about half of my nectar plants, even still I would think I'd have more monarch than I do. I'm hopeful that when the migration starts that the numbers build. What are others seeing?
