Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/31/2006

Number: 1

Have been seeing a "hummer" every evening- around my large white hosta bloosoms, darting to red balsam, impatiens and petunias. Was really shy & didn't stay around long. This evening as I was watering w/ hose, there was a large one just hovering over the house as if it was watching me. It then darted to the red stop sign on the corner of my yard and circled it before leaving- he must of thought it was a large red flower. :>) I am suprised they are still around, as there are many signs of fall in the air w/ low night temperatures. We are going to Mark Twain Lake- MO this weekend & there were lots of "hummers" there the first week of August- am anxious to see if they are still as plentiful!
