I have seen many more monarchs in this area during this summer than in all previous years that I have been reporting to Journey North. This year I see typically 3-4 monarchs every time I venture out when it is not raining. There is one fluttering about outside my window right now. The summer has not been particularly wet nor dry and has been very warm. I don't believe they are migrating here yet. There were several last evening at a replanted prairie near here feeding on the flowering thistles.
