Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/04/2006

Number: 1

About 40 eggs were found today on Asclepias viridis plants at the Choctaw Trails site in southwest Jackson, Mississippi. Milkweed is in poor condition due to the dry conditions. These appear to be the first of the late summer/fall generation in this area since none have been found during surveys over the past 2 weeks and since no evidence of larvae or larval feeding has been noted.
