I apologize for not reporting sooner. We have been spotting many many Monarchs in this area for the past month, even when temperatures were in the 100 degree range. They do not appear to be migrating south yet, as it's apx. 3 weeks early for the masses to begin passing through this area. A friend informed me a few days ago that he has spotted many eggs of theirs on milkweed in the area. The average number of Monarch's I've been seeing each day especially in the last 2 weeks is apx 10 and some days as many as 20. This is highly unusual to see them just hanging around here this far ahead of the southern migration. Another thing we've noticed is these flutterbyes are bigger and more brilliantly colored than is the norm.
