Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/08/2006

Number: 1

Yes, more monarchs to come. In the past 2 weeks, I have collected 31 caterpillars - 21 are chrysalides (several due to emerge this week), 4 cats hanging in "J" position this morning & 6 cats still eating. I'm going to keep looking for more.

It has been a bumper year for monarchs up here in Haliburton, ON. They arrived at the end of May, a month earlier than usual. I will be releasing the last of them towards the end of the month.

Keep your nets ready, I didn't tag any this year.
