Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/09/2006

Number: 1

It's been extremely active for the last two mornings. Counted nearly 200 between 9 and 10 am. Many of the trees are covered with monarchs in clusters of a few to 10 or so. They seem to favor a shady part of the property with a number of english walnut trees. I noticed that the dead leaves look a lot like the roosting monarchs...interesting.
