I spent a few days with my Mom who lives south of Myrtle Beach, SC in the Garden City/Murrells Inlet area. She has a large butterfly bush in her yard and she reported that she has not seen 1 Monarch this year! She has been very disappointed - however every other butterfly native to the area has been hanging out in her yard!
On my way home, I spotted a Monarch in North Myrtle Beach (RT 17 N) and 2 on I 40 W in North Carolina.
During my daughter's soccer game in Havertown near Bryn Mawr), one brave Monarch flitted back and forth on the field. I was happy to see it fly away!
