Signs of Fall

Date: 09/09/2006

Number: 1

I saw 25 hawks at my softball practice at Nashua High School. Their was 12 Red-Tailed Hawks, 10 March Hawks, and 3 Broad Winged Hawks. They were flying over the softball fields and then over the school heading south with a sout western wind blowing at about 5 miles per hour. Two Red-Tails got extremely close to the field and were probably only 25 feet over the softball field. A couple Marsh Hawks also got pretty close maybe 30 feet above the field. I also saw 2 Monarch butterflies heading towards the school. One was a male but I couldn't tell if the other one was male or female.
