Slow start this AM with temps in the 40's - this afternoon with easy SW breeze temps mid 60's brought migrating Monarchs in low and stopping at the flowers - counted 34 but I was busy in the yard - seemed like every 4-5 minutes one would pop up - 70 broadwings in a group an eagle - 3 osprey

not much time outside - 2 monarchs on the flowers - winds were bad for my situation - temps in the 40's in the AM - high skys and windy

NW wind probably took most migrators to the north side of the Blueridge - a trip to Hawk Mountain 19529 - saw 12 monarchs on the north face(1½ hours) - 4 more on the ride home and one on my flowers. (1 hatchling still trying.) Weather got crazy after 4 PM dark clouds gusting in many directions. Hummers still on the feeder and flowers.
