HOORAY!! A wonderful wave of butterflies flew through Kansas City this afternoon! As I was driving home at 3:15pm, I observed 68 butterflies in 8 minutes crossing above the highway.
After I got home, I was able to observe for 20 minutes and counted 96 Monarchs. It was so exciting! It's been a few years since I have seen so many at one time. They had cool temperatures in the upper 60's, a nice Northern breeze and cloudy skies. The majority were flying high above the trees. They're on their way!!!
