To date, the students here at Highland Elementary have tagged and released eleven monarchs and have 15 more waiting in booster boxes in the pupa or larva stage. Yesterday, students retrieved two more fourth instar larva from some first-year Asclepias tuberosa in our schoolyard habitat, and two days ago, a third instar larva was found.
