Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/20/2006

Number: 1

We were the absolute luckiest people on the planet this evening! Several hundred monarch butterflies decided our yard was an ideal roost. With several large trees and tons of ziennas and mairgolds and spider flowers the monarches spent more than 1 and 1/2 hours landing in an ash tree. It was amazing, they came in from every direction and waltzed around looking for the perfect spot. I have seen roost trees before, but not in my yard! It still leaves me breathless, even got a few pictures!
