I have hatched 2 monarchs. One was released in my area yesterday, but still spotted flying nearby. The other was released today (although hatched yesterday, would not fly out of container)and was put on a nearby branch with a piece of over-ripe peach right next to her. She hasn't flown at all yet, but I am hopeful.
