There are tall, thick stands of purple New England asters in our yard and monarchs were feeding. There seemed to be dozens of them. Weather was warm (about 75 degrees) and sunny. Looking up into a large hackberry tree, what seemed to be leaves were actually dozens of monarchs roosting! An incredible sight. Rob Roy is not far from the Wabash River on the western side of central Indiana. The monarchs seemed to be drawn by the late-blooming purple asters.
