Actually, last week I saw a Monarch just fly by heading Southwest. Today, at 2:00 p.m Daylight savings time,I was holding an orange flourescent mailing advertisement, when to my disbelieve a Monarch flew up and touch my mailing and didn't land just flew away so I held it up in the sunlight again. It circled and came back to the same place and again decided it didn't have the right smell or didn't qualify as a flower. It drifted off to some marigolds where it feasted on the nectar. As I watched it went in search of others. The night temperatures were in the 50's but, warmed up to 70's.
