On Monday, Sept. 25, 2006 I counted 200 They were headed west along the south shore of Long Island, NY. This was a casual count between 9AM and 4PM. I was not outside all that time. On Friday Sept. 22, 2006 the amount going past looked to to be about the same, but I did not do a count. They seem to feed on our Mountauk Daisies. They start to bloom in the middle of September and grow all over Montauk. I haven't seen the butterflies on any other flower.
