Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/01/2006

Number: 1

Observed hundreds of Monarchs on our property here at Camp Grady Spruce. Only the larger Live Oak groves and Gum Bumelia groves have the huge "Monarch Fall Outs". They hit two tree clumps harder due to the proximity of the food (Sunflowers, Salt Cedar and Milk Weed.)

October 3
Monarchs still in the large Live Oak Groves. They have been here for exactly a week now. I have seen hundreds on the shore of Possum Kingdom "drinking" although they are not in the water. It looks like they lick the sandy mud.
