Although work deadlines have kept me indoors for all but a few minutes every day recently, I have sighted 1-2 Monarchs daily for the past week or so either at the Tufts campus in Medford MA (just north of Boston) or in my home town of Bedford (~15-18 miles north of Boston). One missed my nose by a foot this morning. Others have remarked on the number of Monarchs locally.
This is anecdotal only, but unusual in my recent experience.
