Warbler migration is in full swing. They flit about so quickly, its hard to identify them! Positive idents on black and white, tennessee, Magnolia, blue wing, and yellow warblers-have had a few more unknowns. Two female hummers still here, last year one was here until Oct. 17th. Maple trees, dogwoods, some viburnums turning color rapidly, pokeberrys have ripened and are being enjoyed by robins, cardinals and catbirds. Orioles left mid Sept, had several this year come to jelly feeder and trumpet vine. Garden starting to get leggy as sun shifts position.
