I am an intern with Gateway National Recreation Area and am doing counts mostly for the park's monitoring program. On Tuesday, Oct. 3rd, between 1:50 and 3:00 pm I counted 1,498 monarchs nectaring on seaside goldenrod at the Great Kills Unit of the park.
