I noticed a large number of Monarch Butterflies (hundreds) in the late morning of 9/28/06. They swarmed into the woods adjacent to my house and began to cluster on the tree branches. By nightfall there were thousands in the surrounding woods which comprise the Ozark National Forest. After spending the night, they left the next morning after the temperature rose and presented a spectacular sight as they flew through the forest and across a deep valley.
