I got to go back before 5:00 and there was still a trickle of monarchs that averaged 1 a minute going on past 6:00 ...
still crossing Lavaca Bay. Their angle out across the bay had changed a bit, almost straight into the setting sun, but the wind was a bit more out of the SE, but still light.
After 5:45, I got to watch a few thru binocs coming back to the NE from out across the bay like they had changed their minds ... have seen this before! Altus is going 30 miles NE up the coast with some students in the morning and will get to see what is happening on the bay at Palacios, they will be both on and along the bay there.
