Just recaptured a monarch that was tagged in our butterfly garden here at the Oklahoma City Zoo yesterday. Today (10/10) weather has turned cooler with off and on rain through the a.m. Cloud cover thinned slightly at around 1:00 p.m. until about 2:00 p.m. temp warmed to 62-64 f. While strolling through the garden I saw about 10 come out of the trees to nectar in the garden. No directional flight observed even after I disturbed them, they were determined to nectar.
