Susitna Elementary School is tucked back in a neighborhood in Anchorage. There are about 550 students in grades K-6. We have lots of birch trees on the perimeter of the school grounds. We often have moose wandering onto the playground. One day we had a baby moose push his nose against the window to try and get a look inside.
The leaves are all off the trees. We had our first hard frost a couple of days ago. The temperature at night has been 25 - 30 degrees F. During the day it is about 45 -50 degrees F. There is "termination dust" on the Chugach mountains the surround the Anchorage bowl.
