When I was leaving school today, I checked the caterpillars on our milkweed and discovered only 2 caterpillars were left and the milkweed was almost gone. I brought them in with the remaining milkweed and put them in an aquarium for the students to observe. One made a chrysalis overnight and the other made a chrysalis 2 days later. We will monitor them for changes. The students are amazed at the beautiful gold etching along the upper edge of the chrysalis and the unique green color.
