Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/16/2006

Number: 3000

Thousands of Monarchs in residential gardens all over Eagle Pass.

The Monarchs don't seem to be in any hurry to leave, and the weather report has forecast of sun on Tuesday, with 30 percent chance of rain today, 80 percent tonight and scattered isolated showers all over. The rain stopped around 1 o'clock and the snouts and sulfurs are flying in the roads. Some Monarchs confused by these flights and get down too low on the road, and get hit, but not many.

Another resident, here in Eagle Pass invited us to view their visiting Monarchs last evening. They had about 3000 in their garden yesterday evening.
